The venues for the Festival are The Guildhall, on Market Place, The Swan, on the High Street; and the Village Hall, off Church Street opposite the church and at the end of the parking area.
The major roads into Lavenham are the B1115 (off the A134) from Sudbury to Lavenham, and the A1141 from Bury and from Hadleigh. Once in Lavenham, there is some street parking, and two major car parks. The closest to the venues is off Church Street, opposite the church and alongside the pub. At the very end of the parking and off to the right is the Village Hall, our main venue.
Chambers operate a bus service between Colchester and Bury St Edmunds on Mondays to Saturdays and there are stops in Lavenham close to both The Swan Hotel and the Village Hall (near The Cockhorse public house). Click here for the Chambers website for more information.
Weekend engineering works are sometimes carried out on some Greater Anglia routes. If you are planning to come by train, we suggest that you check Greater Anglia for service alterations .
The nearest railway station is in Sudbury and trains run from there to Marks Tey on the Colchester to London line. Colchester station is about 17 miles away, but offers a more direct and frequent service. Coming from north or west, Bury St Edmunds station is approximately 11miles from Lavenham.
