Nicci French – Nicci Gerrard and Sean French together write the best-selling psychological thrillers under the name of Nicci French. After twelve stand-alone thrillers, they have now embarked on a series of books featuring the psychoanalyst Frieda Klein. Blue Monday, Tuesday’s Gone and Waiting for Wednesday (published in the summer of 2013) are the first three in an eight-book project. They also write solo novels. They are married, with four children, and live in Suffolk.
With the married couple “Nicci French” is not so much whodunnit? as how-do-they-do-it? They’ve created a a hugely successful professional and family life. Nicci Gerrard and Sean French began their collaboration after an article on recovered memory enthused shared interests and became The Memory Game, their first Nicci French novel in 1998. They moved into crime fiction with Blue Monday in 2011 but it’s an arguably thin line between the two genres as psychotherapist Dr Frieda Klein would testify. The other psychological puzzle is how two minds work as one and, in the case of Nicci French, two married minds. They discussed the secret behind their energy and expertise as authors and how they deal with that special extra person in their marriage and family life.
